Aim: Following the departure of all GP Partners from Bannview Medical Practice in October 2016, there was a period of a year in which medical cover was provided solely by locum doctors. In January 2017 SHSCT assumed management responsibilities for the practice. In the months that followed, a practice-wide audit highlighted potentially serious safety risks in relation to prescription management and overall medicines governance (figure 1) . A huge budget overspend was also identified, largely due to poor prescribing.

Aim: The lymphoedema service identified increased referrals into their service for patients with chronic leg oedema, it was acknowledged that the management plan for these patients needed to be evaluated to improve patient outcomes and make best use of resource. The Healthy Legs Class was devised to meet this need. It has been running since 2016 with it’s success boosted from winning the Dragons Den innovation challenge. Referrals into this new service are increasing and the programme is continually evolving to meet the needs of our service users.
