Service User and Carer Involvement

Many people who use our services already offer their skills, knowledge, insights, time and experience to quality improvement (QI) work.

This might be as a member of a project team working on a small or larger scale improvement, or it could be working at Trust or Regional level on some priority areas.

The level of involvement, expectation and commitment can be discussed and agreed in advance, and adapted as required to help make the experience as valuable as possible for all concerned.

HSCQI are working to explore how we co-design our services with service users, carers and families. We are developing guidance for staff to involve service users and carers in QI training or as part of a project.
