Teenage Allergy Clinic, Paediatric Allergy Service, Craigavon Area Hospital (CAH)

Aim:believe a specific teenage allergy clinic for young people who attend paediatric allergy service at CAH will empower them and their families to effectively manage the risk of anaphylaxis to peanut/nuts into adulthood. Currently teenagers attend multidisciplinary allergy service (paediatrician, allergy nurse and dietitian) at CAH every 2 years to review allergy status. At 16 years of age they are discharged to primary care with no specific allergy follow-up.
A specific teenage clinic will meet recommendations from National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). Any changes will affect the long term development of the service.
